Special Something is a mappack in development by [[SuperJustinBros]], built on a bug-fixed version of [[Mari0: Special Edition]]. It serves as a spiritual successor to [[A0zora]] and uses a similar visual style, with SMB1-styled tilesets colored in a wide selection of colors. Unlike A0zora, it is planned to consist solely of platformer stages with no major puzzle elements- thus, use of the [[Portal Gun]] is not mandatory to pass the stages. Despite this, some levels make use of the various Portal-themed objects to traverse through levels with, such as three of the four [[Gels]], [[Aerial Faith Plate]]s, and [[Excursion Funnel]]s. Levels will also be much shorter- about the same length as a typical Mario level, compared to those in A0zora.

Despite this, some levels make use of the various Portal-themed objects, such as three of the four Gels, Aerial Faith Plates, and Excursion Funnels. Levels will also be much shorter- about the same length as a typical Mario level, compared to those in A0zora.

Due to various bugs with the Beta 9 Bugfix that are exclusive to the OSX release; including preventing the user from being able to change sub level destinations on pipe exits, WillWare took upon the role to apply sub level links.
