After Peach got kidnapped by evil, skull-n-crossbones pirates, the player must travel one of the seven seas, hopping from ship to ship, and braving even the toughest disasters to get her back.

Although simple, it is a nice execution of its aesthetic. Mechanically, it is largely focused on stacking enemies to combine their effects, in something of proto-Custom Enemies. Additionally, each level has its own twist on the gameplay, though they are still all unified by the pirate aesthetic.
